Ourika · Atlas — Maroc
45 minutes from Marrakech, the Ourika valley unfolds its Berber villages, lush gardens and the seven waterfalls of Setti Fatma. Ideal for a cool summer day, discovering the authentic Atlas.
The Ourika valley, 45 min from Marrakech, is the cool escape of choice when the red city suffocates under 40 °C. Walk along the wadi lined with poplars and barley fields, cross the pisé Berber villages (Taghzirt, Tahrhart, Setti Fatma) still ploughed with a donkey. The walk to the 7 waterfalls of Setti Fatma (45 min, river crossing) is accessible to anyone in good health. Lunch with your feet in the water on a terrace overlooking the river: trout tagine, Moroccan salad, fresh fruit. Visit an argan oil workshop run by a women's cooperative, return to Marrakech in late afternoon.
9am departure, stop at the argan cooperative, drive up the valley, walk to the 7 waterfalls of Setti Fatma, lunch with feet in the water, return to Marrakech around 5:30pm.
